Internal Hemorrhoid Treatment

Internal hemorrhoids are often caused due to slight inflammation of the rectal veins surrounding the anal canal. If not treated properly they increase in size and may cause severe complications. Internal hemorrhoids cause great pain during bowel movement and often cause bleeding which can be noticed on the surface of the toilet bowl. Most of their part remains inside the rectum and hence it cannot be seen by the patient.

Internal hemorrhoids should never be ignored and proper care is must for speedy recovery. Natural internal hemorrhoid treatment includes taking fiber rich diet and supplements that prevents constipation and promotes regular bowel movement. There are other modes of treatment as well. Surgery should be the last option as other non-surgical options should be considered. It depends on the nature of hemorrhoids as to what treatment should best suit for the patient.

There are following methods of treatment which are often recommended for internal hemorrhoids:

•  Band litigation : this procedure requires a small band, usually made up of rubber which is inserted and tied at the base of hemorrhoid internally. It prevents the blood supply to the rectal veins and makes the hemorrhoid to dry and shrink away within a short span of time.

•  Laser Coagulation : it is the most recent procedure used as internal hemorrhoid treatment. Electric current is used for shrinking the swollen hemorrhoid by using a laser device. The current causes certain chemical reactions within the tissue of the rectal veins and results in fading of the hemorrhoids.

•  Injection Sclerotherapy: it involves injecting of certain chemical for healing the internal hemorrhoids quickly. It prevents the blood supply to the affected area and thus results in hemorrhoids to shrink away.

•  Infrared Photocoagulation: it involves infrared light to be used for clotting the inflamed veins of rectum. It causes hemorrhoids to get healed up as the infrared light cause the blood to clot and prevents its flow to the affected area.

•  Hemorrhoidectomy: getting rid of hemorrhoids surgically is referred as hemorrhoidectomy. However it should be the last option used for internal hemorrhoid treatment and is often recommended during severe complications.
