Generally doctors recommend for stool examination for the diagnosis of hemorrhoids. It is carried under a microscope for the presence of blood in the sample. In case of internal hemorrhoids the blood may be present in small amount which is not visible by naked eyes as it is not bright red in appearance. Digital Rectal Exam is carried out for hemorrhoids test in which doctors insert their lubricated fingers after wearing gloves in the rectum to feel internal hemorrhoids. Patients usually feel embarrassed to undergo this diagnosis but it provides important clue regarding the position of hemorrhoids and is generally completed within short span of time. It is generally followed by anoscopy, in which a small device called anoscope bearing light is inserted in rectum to have a proper view of hemorrhoids or any abnormalities causing pain and suffering.
After carrying out the above tests, the doctor gets important information and comes to a conclusion whether its hemorrhoids or some fissures that also has similar symptoms. It is important to have hemorrhoids test as advised by the doctor for proper treatment of hemorrhoids.
