Infrared Hemorrhoid Treatment
Infrared photocoagulation or commonly known as infrared hemorrhoid treatment is generally used for curing internal hemorrhoids that ranges from small to moderate in size. It is suitable for patients who are weak and old and cannot sustain other modes of treatment. This procedure is meant to offer fast relief from pain and discomfort during hemorrhoids and is generally performed in clinics, hospitals and health centers under the supervision of a doctor.
In this procedure, a device that emits powerful rays of infrared light is used that leads to the formation of a clot in the vein. As a result the blood circulation to the hemorrhoids is disabled. It causes hemorrhoids to shrink away thus prevents inflammation of the hemorrhoids and reduces the pain and suffering to a great extent. People undergoing this procedure do not require any further treatment which makes it suitable.
This procedure is effective for curing internal hemorrhoids only. It nearly takes around a week’s time for the hemorrhoids to fall off and results in slight bleeding that stops gradually. Infrared hemorrhoid treatment is generally safe with very few or no major complications.
In some cases, patient undergoing infrared photocoagulation complain of excess bleeding and in such case you need to report to your doctor immediately. There is also risk of infection that has adverse side effects on your health. But it is quite rare and it depends on the immunity of the individual.

It is advised to eat proper balanced diet containing enough fibers to promote easy bowel movement. Moreover you should drink plenty of fluids such as water to keep your body hydrated. You should avoid sedentary life style and remain active and avoid straining during passage of stool.
